This DS106 creation was very new for me, as I have never made a meme before. My first challenge was finding a picture I wanted use and something funny to go along with it. I have never made a meme before so this was a little hard for me to do at first, in terms of coming up with an idea.

For this activity, I downloaded the Meme Generator app on my phone. This was surprisingly easy to use! The app is full of memes that other people have made which you can look at. You can also search for a theme and find all memes related to that theme. To make your own meme, you can upload a picture from your camera roll or take a new photo. From there, you can crop your image and add words to the top and bottom of the picture. There is also the option to additional lines of text. From there, you can change the color, size, font, and border of your text. Once you are done making your meme, you can save it to your phone or share it to a social media app. While I do not see myself making many memes in the future, I am happy I found this app. It is very easy to use. I also like to collect ideas for the classroom, and this can be one. I have seen a few teachers have the students make a meme on a particular topic and if this is something I want to do with my class, I need to find apps they can easily use.
